De TF42-B thermische overbelastingsrelais zijn kostenefficiënte elektromechanische beveiligingsapparaten voor de hoofdstroomkring. Ze voldoen aan de nieuwste normen voor spoorweg-rollend materieel en zijn geschikt voor installatie in passagiers- of machinistencabines van treinen die vaak in tunnels of ondergronds rijden. Ze bieden betrouwbare motorbeveiliging bij overbelasting of fase-uitval. De apparaten hebben uitschakelklasse 10. De thermische overbelastingsrelais zijn driepolig met bimetalen uitschakelelementen. De motorestroom loopt door de bimetalen en verwarmt deze direct en indirect.
